Hola Amigos!

Are you guys ready for another article full of Mono Black strategies, stories, jokes and random Brazilian hue hue hues? Well I’m not. (everything besides Mono Black!)
I’m currently in Chile, “preparing for the tournament”. By the time you read this I’ll probably already have finished in the top 4 – at the very least (“One time, dealer – one time!!!)

After a couple of crappy flights (the ones where people clap upon landing…), I arrived and moved in with my Brazilian friend Sergio Ferry, his Brazilian friend and a US dealer.

The tournament was held in the ??? hotel and the local internet felt like a computer with windows 95 installed. Painful!

The flight was expensive but I was able to use the money I won at the Pro Tour as well as sponsor-related income from MTGMADNESS to cover it. I wasn’t sure I have made the right decision to come and was feeling pretty confused but I tried to justify it by telling myself that I’ll probably last eight rounds and not a lot of people have three byes.

I felt like someone who had frantically bought cards from a vendor before checking what the other vendors were offering. Or like someone who has drunk too much beer and started sending “beautiful and completely clear” text messages to his ex-girlfriend. Wuh? Did I just write that? HUE HUE HUE!

Pura vida: (“pure life”) is the most commonly used phrase in Costa Rica (take note the Oxford English Dictionary, Academy of Whatever, etc.).
It symbolizes that everything is alright, relaxed and in harmony and the term can be used as a greeting, as a farewell, as a way to express gratitiude and more. It can even be used sarcastically…

I joined this great family last July and since then only good things have happened to me. Seriously, these guys are awesome.

Awesome: (submitted by a guy in GP Oakland to the Oxford Dictionary) “When Melissa DeTora gets mana screwed or mana flooded in both games.”
Everytime MTGM players attend a Grand Prix, they invite everyone for dinner and drinks. Besides that they really understand us as players and what we’re doing in this business.
If you take a look at each important event over the past three months, there’s always one guy with a MTGMADNESS shirt at the top tables. They really know how to pick their players.
You really feel that you’re among friends. In other teams you’re made to feel that you’re a miserable human being who just happens to be a good Magic player!

OMG, the last part is the best! HUE HUE HUE!

You can also check all the MTGMADNESS coverage videos here:
“The Youtube Channel!”

I guess all of you dudes are wondering who that girl is. Her name is Melissa Fischler. I don’t know anything about her (not even her relationship status) since I couldn’t attend GP Antwerp. We have great some great new people covering these events besides, well, you know HUE!

Sometimes judges make mistakes (like Ronaldinho’s decision to sign a four-year contract with the Rio de Janeiro-based club Flamengo!), even in big tournaments but if you don’t agree, you can always appeal their ruling.

There are always going to be people who play in ways that really bother you. I’m not talking about the lands at the front kind of thing, I’m talking about people who verbally attack you and try to intimidate you. There are also hotshots who think that they’re better than Juan Finkel.

This may work out for some but not for others:
